NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.–Monroe University women's basketball sophomore guard Bre Jefferson was named a NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention All-American team on Wednesday afternoon. This is Jefferson's first All-American honor in her career.
In the 16 games she played this season, Jefferson tallied five games in which she scored over 20 points per game. She also became the first player in program history to score 50 points in a single game, which came against Lackawanna on February 19th. She also hit the 1000-point mark in 48 games on the same day.
She sat second on the team in total points with 306, second on the team in field goals made with 122, and led the Mustangs in points per game at 18, which sat 26th in the nation.
She helped propel the Mustangs to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament and to an NJCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic District title.
