Toussaint Runner-Up in 200m, Sanneh Podiums as Mustangs Close NJCAA Championships

TOPEKA, KS–Freshman Shaquane Toussaint and sophomore Modou Sanneh of the Monroe University men's indoor track and field team both earned podium finishes in the 200m and 400m respectively during day two of the 2026 NJCAA National Championships on Saturday.

Toussaint had one day after setting a new school record and personal best time in the 200m, and did so once more on the last day . Toussaint placed 2nd overall with a time of 20.73, which is not only a new school record but also the fastest time in program history. His performance also earned him USTFCCCA first-team All-American status.

Sanneh highlighted a terrific finish to the indoor season for the Mustangs, placing seventh overall with a time of 46.91. His performance also earned him USTFCCCA first-team All-American status.

With the indoor season now completed, the Mustangs will take a couple of days off before kicking off the 2026 outdoor season with high expectations.
