Mustangs Earn Three USTFCCCA First Team All-America Honors During Indoor Season

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association announced its 2026 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field All-America teams, with three members of the Monroe University track & field program earning First Team All-America honors following standout performances during the indoor season.

Leading the group was Modou Sanneh, who earned First Team All-America recognition in the men's 400 meters. Sanneh posted one of the top marks in the NJCAA this season and was among the national leaders throughout the indoor campaign. His strong performances helped the Mustangs remain competitive at major meets leading into the national championships.

Freshman standout Shaquane Toussaint was recognized as a First Team All-American in the men's 200 meters after an outstanding debut season in Monroe blue and gold. Toussaint finished the indoor season ranked among the nation's fastest in the event and delivered multiple record-setting performances throughout the year.

On the women's side, Sarah-Lea Cohen earned First Team All-America honors in the women's 800 meters following an impressive indoor campaign. Competing against top competition across the country, she emerged as one of the NJCAA's premier middle-distance runners this season.

The USTFCCCA All-America honors are awarded to student-athletes who place among the top finishers at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, recognizing the top performers in each event across the country.
Monroe's trio of First Team All-Americans highlights another successful indoor season for the Mustangs as the program continues to produce national-level talent.
