MONROE TORCHES BALTIMORE CITY IN STATEMENT WIN

New Rochelle, NY - There was no easing into Saturday's matchup. The Lady Mustangs stepped on the gas from the opening possession and never let up, unleashing a fast-paced, suffocating performance in a 118-21 dismantling of Baltimore City Community College at the Monroe Athletics Complex.

The Mustangs looked every part a team finding its rhythm and firing on all cylinders as they surged back above .500 on the season.

Monroe opened the day on a 26-2 blitz and locked in defensively from the jump allowing just four points in each of the first, third and fourth quarters. Baltimore City struggled to find any airspace as Monroe piled up 29 steals and turned defensive pressure into instant offense.

Adela Cecunjanin was electric, erupting for 33 points behind seven made threes while picking off five steals and fueling run after run. Skylah Kemp was equally unstoppable, delivering one of the sharpest all-around outings of the year with 30 points on 11-for-13 shooting to go along with eight boards, six assists and four steals.

Inside, Hellary De Los Santos owned the paint with 11 points and a dominant 17-rebound outing as Monroe controlled the glass by a staggering +42 margin. Astou Diongue and Kaylyn Lelie provided a punch off the bench, combining for 22 points and 22 rebounds.

Monroe's offense was simply rolling shooting 53% from the field, notching 14 threes and 54 points in the paint with 32 second-chance points while holding the Panthers to just 18% shooting and zero makes from beyond the arc.
