NEW YORK, N.Y., February 4, 2023 – The No. 10-ranked Monroe College Mustangs men's track and field team wrapped up its weekend on Saturday with Day 2 of the Rutgers University Scarlet Knights Open at The Armory in New York City.
Four Mustang men ran in both the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash events on Saturday.
Robensky Duffault ran personal-best times in both events. In the 60m, he clocked in at 7.10 seconds, and then ran a time of 22.66 seconds in the 200m.
Thomas Strouble finished the 60m in 7.53 seconds on Saturday. He then ran a time of 23.33 in the 200m to set a new personal-best time.
David Joseph ran in both races as well. He finished the 60m in 7.50 before registering a time of 24.49 to set a new personal best in the 200m.
Rafael Dayton ran a time of 8.10 in the 60m on Saturday. He later finished the 200m in a personal-best time of 25.57 seconds.
The Mustangs will split up next weekend. A group of Mustangs will head back up to Boston for the David Hemery Valentine Invite at Boston University on Friday, Feb. 10, and Saturday, Feb. 11. The rest of the Mustangs will compete in the Big Apple Invite on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 11 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
