THE TEAMS
Monroe College
Roster | Schedule | Stats
The Mustangs enter the Region 20 Championship for the first time, as there is no Region 15 Championship in 2021. Monroe had won five straight Region 15 titles and has recently been crowned the East District Champion each of the past two completed seasons (there was no postseason in 2020). The Mustangs made the first two appearances at the JUCO World Series in program history in 2018 and 2019. The Mustangs' only matchup with a Region XX opponent this season was a classic matchup at Potomac State, but unfortunately resulted in a 16-15 defeat.

The Catamounts enter as Region 20's top seed this weekend. They went 3-1 against their region rivals, sweeping a two-game series against Harford and splitting their two matchups with Hagerstown. The most recent NJCAA Div. I Baseball Poll had the Catamounts receiving votes for the first time this season. Potomac State last won the Region 20 Championship back in 2015, but the Catamounts ultimately fell in the Eastern District Championship final to USC Sumter from Region 10. They have made four appearances in the JUCO World Series (2004, 2005, 2006, 2011).

Hagerstown Community College

The Hawks are the No. 2 seed for the Region 20 Championship tournament after finishing the season 2-2 against region foes. They split both of their two-game series with Harford and Potomac State. The Hawks have the most wins and games played of all teams involved in the region tournament. Hagerstown has appeared in the JUCO World Series three times (1970, 1993, 2008).

Harford Community College
Roster | Schedule | Stats
Though Harford enters as the No. 4 seed this season, the Fighting Owls have dominated Region 20 for the past five years. Harford has won four straight Region 20 titles dating back to the 2016 season. 2016 was the last time Harford won the East District Championship and the year the Fighting Owls made their only appearance at the JUCO World Series.

WHAT COMES NEXT
Due to the modified Region Championship format this season, the 2021 East District Championship will be a best-of-three series between the Region 15/20 champion and the Region 10 champion out of South Carolina. The three-game series will be hosted by the Region 10 champion the weekend of May 14-16. The first team to win two games will be the East District Champion and earn its spot in the 2021 Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo.
