GEORGETOWN, De.–The Monroe University baseball team (19-26 overall) dropped their final regular season games to Delaware Tech by scores of 9-2 and 5-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
·     The Mustangs opened the scoring in the top of the second inning on an RBI single by Alejandro Bernard to put the Mustangs ahead 1-0.
·     Then in the bottom half of the inning, Delaware Tech tacked on five runs coming on three RBI singles, a wild pitch, and an RBI ground out to give them a 5-1 lead.
·     In the bottom of the fourth inning, Delaware Tech added two more runs on a fielder's choice and wild pitch to give them a 7-1 lead.
·     Delaware Tech capped off their run scoring in the bottom of the sixth inning, tallying two runs on a sacrifice fly and an error by the shortstop to give them a 9-1 lead.
·     Monroe's last run came in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Isaiah Gibbs, resulting in the 9-2 loss.
Game 2
·     The Mustangs began game two with a run coming from the bat of Franklin Francisco as he drove in an RBI double to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead.
·     In the top of the third inning, the Mustangs added another run on a RBI double by Nair Jamanika to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead.
·     In the bottom of the fourth inning, Delaware Tech came back to tie the game at two on a wild pitch and scored a run, making the score 2-2.
·     Then in the top of the fifth inning, the Mustangs added another run from Jamanika as he ripped an RBI single to right field to give the Mustangs a 3-2 lead.
·     In the bottom of the fifth inning, Delaware Tech tied the game at 3-3 on a wild pitch scored run.
·     Then in the bottom of the sixth inning, Delaware Tech sealed the victory on an RBI single which scored two runs to give them the 5-3 win.
STATS AND NOTES
·     With Delaware Tech's pair of wins, the all-time series is now tied at 7-7.
·     Jamanika led the offense in game two, going 2-4 with one double and two RBIs.
·     The Mustangs ended the regular season with their seventh straight double-digit win season.

·     The Mustangs return to action on Friday, May 1, when they will face WVU Potomac State in the NJCAA Region 20 Division 1 tournament. Game-time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Bel Air, Md.
