NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., March 8, 2018 – Due to recent inclement weather causing unplayable field conditions, Friday's scheduled doubleheader between the Monroe College baseball team and Sullivan County Community College, which was set to be played at Dick Caswell Baseball Field, has been canceled. No make-up date has been announced.
The Mustangs will play next on Monday, March 12, when they visit USC Sumter down in Sumter, S.C., kicking off a seven-day trip to South Carolina for Monroe. They will play back-to-back doubleheaders at USC Sumter on March 12 and 13, with first pitch each day set for 1 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level as of the fall of 2017.
