Bel Air, Md. – Monroe College sophomore, Gabrielle Jubinville, paced the Mustangs with a double-double of 17 points and ten rebounds in an 89-52 loss at Harford on Thursday.  This is the second-straight double-double for the Edmonton, Alberta native.
 
Monroe fell behind early and never recovered.  They trailed by 15 points after one quarter of play.  The lead got as high as 17 points for Harford in the first half, but a 6-0 run late in the quarter got the Mustangs within ten.  Destini Green scored three points during the outburst on a bucket and foul shot.  Fatoumata Coulibaly added a free throw, and Shantel Butler made a layup.  The Mustangs trailed 38-24 at the half.
 
A Jubinville jumper early in the third got the deficit to single digits, making the score 40-31, Fighting Owls.  Monroe would get no closer as Harford pulled away for an 89-52 win.
 
Breanna Dennis fell just shy of a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.  With the setback, Monroe is now 5-15 on the season.  The Monroe College women's basketball team returns to action on Friday, January 29, when they face Frederick Community College in Maryland.  The game time for that contest is 7:00 PM.
