NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.–The Monroe University men's volleyball team defeated Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in straight sets (25-20, 25-18, and 25-16) on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
·     The Mustangs held Albany College to just four kills in the first set while the Mustangs tallied eight.
·     The Mustangs and Albany each went back-and-forth scoring points.
·     Albany and Monroe each scored three straight points in a row once during the set.
·     In the second set, the Mustangs scored seven straight points from the sixth point to the seventh in the set, which included four service aces by Yensy Rodriguez.
·     Monroe tallied 10 kills in the second set while holding Albany to just five.
·     In the third set, the Mustangs went on another six-point run, from the 13th point to the 18th point, which aided them in winning the third set 25-16.
·     Benny Rosario tallied one service ace in the points run.
·     The Mustangs held Albany to four kills while the Mustangs tallied another 10 kills.
STATS AND NOTES
·     This is the first win against Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in program history.
·     Yensey Rodriguez led the Mustangs in kills and service aces with 11 kills and four aces. It's the seventh time this season Rodriguez has tallied double-digit kills.
·     Cristian Nunez and Chijaku Ndukanma each had two blocks on the day.
·     Hudson Irving tallied 19 assists, which is the 10th time he's tallied double-digit assists this season.
·     The Mustangs are currently on a three-game win streak.
