EUNICE, La. - The Monroe University baseball team (1-12 overall) was defeated by LSU-Eunice (10-1 overall), 14-1 in seven innings on Sunday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· LSU-Eunice tallied four runs in the bottom of the first inning coming off an RBI double by Marshall Lougue, a scored run off a passed ball and a bases-loaded walk to take a 4-0 lead.
· In the bottom of the second inning, the Bengals added eight more runs, which included an RBI triple to left center by Jordan Luna, to give the Bengals a 12-0 lead.
· The Bengals would add two more runs in the bottom of the third inning off an RBI single a wild pitch to give the Bengals a 14-0 lead.
· The Mustangs scored one run off an RBI single by Alejandro Bernard in the top of fifth inning to cut the Bengals' lead to 14-1.
STATS AND NOTES

This was LSU-Eunice's 17th straight win against Monroe in program history.

The Bengals hold the all-time series lead at 23-1.

Bernard tallied his fifth RBI of the season for the Mustangs.
