New Rochelle, NY - Monroe University put together a ruthless, no-letup performance Sunday afternoon, overwhelming Monroe Community College 105–39 in a dominant home victory.
The Mustangs seized control immediately and never looked back. Monroe opened the game on a tear, jumping out to a 29–14 lead after the first quarter before delivering the knockout blow in the second. The Mustangs held MCC to just five points in the period, using relentless defensive pressure and pace to build a commanding 57–19 halftime advantage.
Any thought of a response was erased coming out of the break. Monroe continued to dictate every possession in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 29–17 and extending the margin well beyond reach. The Mustangs closed the afternoon by limiting MCC to three points in the fourth quarter, finishing off one of the most lopsided wins of the season.
Monroe's balance and depth were on full display, with scoring contributions coming from throughout the lineup. Hellary De Los Santos and Alex Stewart each led the way with 14 points, while Adela Cecunjanin followed closely with 13 on an efficient night. Bre Jefferson added 12 points and five assists, and Skylah Kemp chipped in 11 points while setting the tone defensively.
The Mustangs controlled every statistical category, shooting 48.3 percent from the field while holding Monroe Community College to just 27.9 percent. Monroe dominated the glass with a 56–22 rebounding advantage and turned 28 forced turnovers into consistent scoring opportunities, building the lead possession by possession.
With the decisive win, Monroe University moves to 12-6 on the year.

The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
