WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Monroe College junior varsity men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Army West Point Thursday afternoon. The Mustangs fall to 3-2 with Thursday's loss.
Kashane Ashmeade scored the lone goal for the Mustangs, finding the back of the net off an assist from
Aldain Jeffers.
Johan Bermeo shouldered the loss in goal after yielding two goals in the first half.
Illia Loukissas did not allow a score while minding the net in the second half.
The Mustangs will next play on Thursday, Oct. 19, when they host the Monroe College Express in a rematch from their matchup back on Sept. 12, in which the Mustangs came out on top, 1-0. Thursday's contest is set to begin at 4 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 18 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's rugby, and the newly added club women's rugby team, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Monroe Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, will have six teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level beginning in the fall of 2017.
