WEST POINT, N.Y., September 24, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's soccer team dropped a 4-1 decision at Army Preparatory School Tuesday afternoon. The Mustangs fall to 0-2-2 on the season with the loss.
Army took a 1-0 lead on a 15th-minute goal in the first half, taking that lead into halftime. Five minutes into the second half, Army scored again to go up, 2-0.
Jay Wong then scored for Monroe in the 55th minute to get within one, but Army posted two more goals later in the period to claim the 4-1 win.
Jose Ocampo played the full game in net, allowing four goals while making two saves to take the loss and fall to 0-2-1.
Wong's goal was his third of the season, good for the highest total on the team through four contests this season.
The Mustangs will hit the road once again on Thursday, Sept. 26, for a matchup against Bristol Community College in Fall River, Mass. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
