FALL RIVER, Mass., September 26, 2019 – In the team's second trip out to Bristol Community College this season, the Monroe College Mustangs JV men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Bayhawks Thursday afternoon. The Mustangs fall to 0-3-2 on the year, while the Bayhawks improve to 5-1-1.
Neither team was able to get on the board in the first half of Thursday's contest. Ossama Diaby broke the scoreless tie with Monroe's first goal in the 65th minute. Williams Shanks made it 2-0 in the 75th minute of the game. Bristol then caught fire, scoring three times in the final 10 minutes of the game, including the game-winner in the 89th minute, to pick up the 3-2 win.
Jose Ocampo got the start for Monroe and did not allow a goal in the game.
Junior Morrison shouldered the loss after taking over late in the game to fall to 0-1.
The Mustangs play their first home game of the season on Tuesday, when they host the Monroe Express JV men's soccer team at Flowers Park in New Rochelle. The matinee game is set to begin at 11 a.m.
