Men’s JV Soccer Wins Third-Straight Game

Mustangs Defeat American International, 3-0

Springfield, Mass. – The Monroe College JV men's soccer team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 3-0 shutout of American International College on Thursday. The team has won three straight games, all against NCAA Division II schools.

The Yellow Jackets and Mustangs played a defensive first half that was back and forth. Monroe got on the scoreboard in the 32nd minute, when Kamal Sabar scored on a free kick. The game went into the break at 1-0.

Monroe pulled ahead 2-0 just ten minutes into the second half, when the AIC keeper misplayed a free kick. He caught the ball and went to bounce it to himself, but it deflected off his foot and rolled into the goal.

The Mustangs put the game away in the 85th minute on a breakaway by Aldain Jeffers. The team won 3-0.

The Monroe College JV team will return to action on Sunday, October 2nd, against Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA. Kickoff will be at 2:00
