New Rochelle, N.Y. - The Monroe College men's junior varsity basketball team split a pair of road contests over the weekend, losing to Rise Academy, 86-84 and rebounding with a win over Harrisburg Community College, 66-58. The team is now 8-6 on the season.
Three Mustangs reached double figures in the loss to Rise, led by Azmi Abu-Ahmad's 30-point output.
Antoine Lewis totaled 16 points, while
Justin Wilson scored 13.
In the win over Harrisburg, Abu-Ahmad scored 27 points to lead Monroe once again. Chianta Holtclaw reached double-figures with 14 points and
Nick Chumney scored seven.
The Monroe College JV basketball team returns to action on Thursday, January 14, when they travel to Weaterbury, Connecticut to face Post University. The tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
