NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Monroe University men's and women's outdoor track and field team will compete at the 2026 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Championships from Thursday, May 14 to Saturday, May 16. Preliminaries will be held on Thursday and Friday, with the finals taking place Saturday.
The Mustangs will kick off the competition on Thursday with sophomore Modou Sanneh, freshman Shaquane Toussaint, and freshman Cleon Joseph each running in the men's 400m prelims at 8:45 p.m. The women's 400m prelims begin at 8:30 p.m. which features sophomore Kaliyah Jones.
A packed Friday slate will begin with Aleisha Clarke running in the women's 100m hurdles prelim at 1:40 p.m. Then Tanesia Gardiner and Brooke Sheppard will run in the 800m prelims at 3:10 p.m. shortly followed by Sanneh in the 800m prelims at 3:30 p.m. Then at 3:50 p.m., Analissa Redmond will run in the women's 200m prelims.
Friday night closes with the men's and women's 4x400 relay prelims at 5:10 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. respectively. The teams comprise Redmond, Jones, Gardiner, and Sheppard. The men's team has Toussaint, Joseph, Christian Gabriel, and Sanneh representing the Mustangs in the relay.
All other competitions will depend on Monroe's advancement during the preliminaries.
