TOPEKA, KS. –The Monroe University women's indoor track and field teams are set to compete at the NJCAA Division I National Championships on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
The Mustangs will bring twelve athletes across thirteen events (five men, seven women) to Kansas. On the women's side, freshmen sophomores Analissa Redmond and sophomores Kaliyah Jones and Sarah-Lea Cohen lead the Monroe women into the championships. On the women's side, freshman Analissa Redmond will appear in two individual events (Long Jump and 1600m relay), freshman Brooke Sheppard will appear in two individual events (1000m and 1600m relay), freshman Keishwanna Phillip will appear in the 60m, sophomore Aleisha Clarke will appear in the 60M Hurdles, sophomore Sarah-Lea Cohen will appear in the 800m, sophomore Tanesia Gardiner will appear in three individual events (600m, 800m, and 1600m relay) and sophomore Kaliyah Jones will appear in two individual events (400m and 1600m relay).
The full Friday schedule is as follows, with placement in these events determining the Saturday schedule to be released soon.
3:50 pm – 60m Hurdles – Aleisha Clarke
4:20 pm – 600m – Tanesia Gardiner
5:00 pm – 60m – Keishwanna Phillip
5:25 pm – 400m – Kaliyah Jones
5:30 pm – Long Jump – Analissa Redmond
6:05 pm - 800m – Sarah-Lea Cohen and Tanesia Gardiner
7:20 pm - 1000m – Brooke Sheppard
