BEL-AIR, Md.–The Monroe University baseball team closed out their time in Bel-Air with a 7-3 loss against Harford and a 21-4 against CCBC-Essex on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1 Harford)
·     After Harford took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, the Mustangs evened the score at 1-1 off a wild pitch, which scored a run.
·     In the top of the third inning, Nair Jamanika launched a solo home run to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead.
·     In the same inning, Matthew DeFisher ripped an RBI single to left field, which scored a run to give the Mustangs a 3-1 lead.
·     Then, in the bottom of the third inning, the Fighting Owls tied the game at 3-3 off a two-run home run.
·     In the same inning, a hit by a pitch scored a run from third to give the Fighting Owls a 4-3 lead.
·     In the bottom of the fifth inning, a solo home run by the Fighting Owls put them ahead 5-3.
·     Then, in the bottom of the sixth inning, a two-RBI single by the Fighting Owls sealed the 7-3 victory for them.
STATS AND NOTES
·     Jaminika tallied his second home run of the season.
·     Carolos Pimentel picked up the loss going 3.0 innings allowing two earned runs and striking out three batters.
·     Victor Ceballos-Polanco went three innings as well, striking out four batters and allowing three earned runs.
·     Harford leads the all-time series 30-17.
