CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Monroe University men's volleyball team dropped a pair of games against College of Dupage and Fingerlakes CC in straight sets (20-25, 19-25, 16-25) and (17-25, 23-25, 17-25) on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
·     Dupage tallied 12 kills in the first set while holding the Mustangs to just eight.
·     Dupage went on a five-point run early in the set, which led to them eventually taking the opening set.
·     The Mustangs also had six errors in the first which aided in Dupage winning the set.
·     In the second set, Dupage only had eight kills while the Mustangs had nine.
·     The Mustangs went on a four-point run towards the end of the set, but it wasn't enough to hold off Dupage, eventually winning the set 25-19.
·     In the final set, Dupage attacked with 12 kills while holding Monroe to eight.
·     A pair of three-point runs in the match led to Dupage taking the final set 25-16.
Game 2
·     Finger Lakes tallied 10 kills in the first set while holding Monroe to nine.
·     Finger Lakes had a pair of three-point runs in the opening set, leading to them winning the opening set 25-17.
·     In the second set, Finger Lakes and Monroe each tallied 14 kills in the set.
·     Monroe would narrow the Finger Lakes lead to one off an error to make the set score 23-22, but Finger Lakes tacked on the final two points to take the set 25-23.
·     In the final set, Finger Lakes tallied 13 kills while holding Monroe to seven.
·     A five-point run in the early part of the set gave Finger Lakes the momentum to take the set and game 25-17.
STATS AND NOTES
·     Finger Lakes leads the all-time series 6-4.
·     Monroe holds the series lead over Dupage 6-4.
·     Yensy Rodriguez led the Mustangs in kills in game one with 10 and in game two with 10.
·     Hudson Irving led the team in assists with 17 in game one and 15 in game two.

·     The Mustangs return to action on Friday, April 3, when they face Bryant & Stratton College in the Bronx, N.Y. Game-time is set for 7:00 p.m.
