GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – The Monroe University men's volleyball team (11-9 overall) dropped a pair of matches against Nassau CC and Monroe University-Bronx on Saturday, 3-0 and 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Game 1)
·     Monroe was held to six kills in the first and second sets while Nassau tallied 12 in both sets.
·     The Mustangs also committed 12 combined errors in the first two sets, resulting in them dropping set one 25-17 and 25-21.
·     In the third set, Nassau continued dominating, winning the third set 25-16. The Mustangs were held to three kills in the set.
Game 2
·     In the first set, the Mustangs tallied 11 kills while holding the Express to just seven.
·     The Express opened the first set scoring four straight points and held off the Mustangs to win the set 25-20.
·     In the second set, the Mustangs only had five kills while the Express tallied 10.
·     The Express tallied six-straight points in the set which aided them in taking the set 25-15.
·     In the third set, the Mustangs would take the set, scoring the final three points of the set to capture the set win 25-19.
·     The fourth set was evenly matched, with the Mustangs tallying 13 kills while the Express had 14.
·     The Mustangs scored seven straight points in the set, but it wasn't enough as the Mustangs dropped the set 25-22.
STATS AND NOTES
·     Yensey Rodriguez led the team in kills with 11 in game two and six in game one.
·     Nassau CC now leads the all-time series 5-4, and the Mustangs lead the all-time series against the Express 4-1.
·     This was the first back-to-back losses for the Mustangs since February 19th and 21st.

·     The Mustangs return to action on Wednesday, March 25, when they host Union College. Game-time is set for 7:00 p.m.
