Scranton, PA – Bre Jefferson delivered a historic performance Thursday night, pouring in 50 points to set a new single-game scoring record as Monroe rolled past Lackawanna College, 93–39.
Jefferson's dominant outing powered the Mustangs in a game that was never in doubt.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mustangs stormed out of the gate in the first quarter, outscoring Lackawanna 29–4 to seize immediate control.
Jefferson established herself early, attacking the paint and knocking down perimeter shots to fuel a 19-0 Monroe run. By the end of the opening frame, the Mustangs had built a 25-point cushion and set the tone defensively.
In the second quarter, Monroe continued its offensive rhythm, adding 23 more points while holding the Falcons to 15. Jefferson caught fire from beyond the arc, connecting on multiple three-pointers to extend the lead to 52–19 at halftime.
The Mustangs maintained their intensity in the third quarter, adding 22 points and pushing the margin past 40. Jefferson continued to score at all three levels, while Sydney Huskey provided key perimeter shooting and playmaking.
In the fourth, Monroe closed out the contest with another 19-point effort. Jefferson capped her record-breaking night at the free-throw line and in the paint before exiting to a commanding lead, sealing the 93–39 victory.
STATS AND NOTES
Bre Jefferson finished with a program single-game record 50 points, shooting 19-of-53 from the field and 7-of-29 from three-point range.
Sydney Huskey added 19 points and seven assists, while Skylah Kemp chipped in nine points off the bench.
Monroe outrebounded Lackawanna 70–43 and forced 24 turnovers.
The Mustangs recorded 39 second-chance points and 24 points off turnovers in the victory.
The 50-point performance marks the highest single-game scoring total in program history.
Jefferson has now scored 1000 combined points in her last 48 games.
