Bryn Mawr, PA – The Monroe University women's volleyball team defeated Harcum College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-12), on Wednesday, elevating its current win streak to nine games.
The Mustangs continue to win at will, with seven of their nine consecutive wins coming on straight sets. They have allowed just 12.2 points per set in the win streak and have limited opponents to single digit points on nine occasions.
Today, Monroe was fueled by freshman
Adriana Garcia, who accumulated 13 kills on 22 attempt — both team-highs. Fellow freshman outside hitter
Alisha Pereira Rodriguez-Wells followed suit with eight kills.
Sophomores
Emma Dedushaj and
Mileyshka Melendez recorded 24 digs and 25 assists, respectively, as each player continues their respective climb up the program record book.
Monroe will next head to Scranton, PA, for a tri-match hosted by Lackawanna College on Saturday. It will first play Raritan Valley Community College at noon before taking on the Falcons at 2:00 pm.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
