Monroe Picks Up Second Straight Win, Outlasts Allegany 103–86

New Rochelle, NY- Monroe turned in another strong offensive showing on Sunday afternoon, defeating Allegany College of Maryland 103–86 at the MAC. The Mustangs shot over 52 percent from the field, controlled the glass, and generated consistent scoring from both the starting unit and the bench to close out their second straight victory.

Naceiar Kirksey and Nick Williams powered the attack with a combined 56 points. Kirksey finished with 29 points on 10-for-19 shooting while adding four threes and a perfect 5-for-5 at the line. Williams matched him with 27 points on an ultra-efficient 11-for-17 afternoon, and pulled down 11 rebounds to complete a double-double. Both set the tone early as Monroe built a 51–37 halftime lead, highlighted by a 19-point burst from the pair in the opening 10 minutes.

Monroe continued to separate in the second half behind strong interior play from Qingfang Pang and Abraham Rosario, who controlled the paint defensively and on the boards. Pang recorded 13 rebounds and added seven points, while Rosario contributed five points and seven rebounds. Their rebounding presence helped Monroe finish with a 53-28 advantage on the glass and 21 second-chance points.

The Mustangs also received an important boost from the bench. Faquir Mosley scored 13 points with six rebounds, Deuce Maxey added four points and steady backcourt minutes, and Tavien Tyler handed out six assists to help orchestrate the offense. Monroe's depth allowed them to maintain pace as Allegany attempted several second-half pushes.

Allegany was led by Elijah Hall's 17 points and a 14-point effort from Darrion Brooks, but Monroe consistently answered each run. Allegany trimmed the margin to single digits midway through the second half, but the Mustangs responded behind a series of finishes from Williams, a three from Kirksey, and transition baskets from Mosley and Pang to push the lead back out.

Monroe closed the game scoring on its final possession with a Pang dunk to reach the 103-point mark. The Mustangs shot 52.1 percent from the floor and 73.3 percent from the line while limiting Allegany to 27.3 percent from three.

With the win, Monroe improves to 3–2 on the season and turn their heads to a pair of Region 8 opponents in Florida SouthWestern and Miami Dade.
