Kirksey and Williams Named to NJCAA Division I All-America Teams

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The Monroe University men's basketball program captured two NJCAA Division I All-American honors on Wednesday afternoon. Naceiar Kirksey and Nick Williams were each named to All-American teams.

Kirksey was named a Second Team All-American after leading the Mustangs' offense in points (545), points per game (17.0) and three-pointers made (71). Kirksey sits at number 53 in the nation in points per game. In the 30 games he played this season, Kirksey tallied 11 games in which he scored over 20 points per game. He had only four games during the regular season in which he didn't score double-digit points.

His 21-point performance against Harcum College on March 8th led the Mustangs to clinch the NJCAA Division I East District title. The All-American honor is the first in his career.

Williams was a Third Team All-American after being the Mustangs' second-top point scorer as he averaged 12.7 points per game. He's scored double-digit points in 17 of the 27 games he's played in this season. He's also recorded three double-doubles this season, two of which he scored over 20 points.

He came in the clutch for the Mustangs in the first round of the NJCAA Division I tournament when he posted a team-leading 24 points against Mineral Area College, leading the Mustangs to a 77-72 victory. He went 12-14 from the free-throw line while going 6-13 from the field. It was the second-highest number of points he scored in the season.
