ROCKVILLE, Md., November 13, 2023 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to a halt on Sunday, as the Mustangs dropped their final game of the Montgomery College Tip-Off Classic to the host Raptors, 66-59. The Mustangs fall to 3-2 on the season, while the Raptors improve to 2-2.
Emma Wilson-Saltos had another big double-double in the game, producing 18 points and 16 rebounds.
Alycia Secchiaroli registered her second of the season as well with 10 points and 10 boards.
Sharon Brown totaled 11 points with team highs of four assists and five steals.
Carlota Gomez-Alonso just missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds to go with four steals.
Nicole Bencosme also had nine points in the game.
The Mustangs are back on the road next Sunday, Nov. 19, taking a trip up to Syracuse to take on NJCAA Div. III No. 7 Onondaga Community College. Sunday's tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
