BRIDGEPORT, Conn., November 19, 2022 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team picked up its second straight gritty road victory on Friday, defeating the University of Bridgeport JV team, 85-83. The Mustangs remain undefeated with a 4-0 record.
Richie Guillaume scored a team-high 19 points in the win, adding six rebounds, six steals and three assists. O'Shamiar Majette was next with 14 points and five boards. Ebrihima Dibasey totaled 10 points, four rebounds and three steals off the bench. Jaheim Gregory filled the stat sheet with eight points, eight boards, five blocks, five steals and an assist. Davion Bonar contributed eight points, seven rebounds and a team-high five assists. Kofi Mends picked up nine points and seven boards.
The Mustangs go back to work on Sunday, Nov. 20, when they return to the Monroe Athletic Complex to host the College of Mount Saint Vincent JV team. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 11 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
