"Today's course was very challenging and hilly. I am very proud of these ladies who took on today's challenge," said head coach Shirvon Greene. "It was a tough way to debut in their first 5K of the season; along with the terrain, they had to battle hot weather. I am happy and proud of the strength and resilience they showed on the course. They showed toughness and grit. This is definitely a step in the right direction. As our team motto says, 'KEEP SHOWING UP,' and that's exactly what they did today."
Monroe's next race is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at the Golden Eagle Invite in Stony Brook, NY.
