NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.–Two Monroe University soccer players took their next step in their collegiate careers as Abel Ador and Yotaro Furutani each committed to play at the University of Connecticut this coming fall. Both players were standouts for the Mustangs last season.
In the 11 games Adore played last season, he tallied two goals and one assist for five points. His two shots on goal during the season were both goals, while he played 786 minutes. Ador played both center back and defensive center midfield for the Mustangs and will do the same for the Huskies next season.
Furutani played a combined 24 games in his two seasons at Monroe. In those two seasons, he registered two goals, two assists and six points. He played 1427 minutes in his career, with both his goals coming in his freshman season. Furtami will enter UConn as a center midfielder who will fit in well in their diamond midfield.
Adore and Furtami enter the Big East Conference, where they will face four other Monroe alums who also play on teams in the same conference. Those alums include Gun Ha Lee (Xavier University), Alejandro Silverstrini (Xavier University), Diego Batista (Providence College), and Bruno Rosa (Providence College).
