Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA revealed its 2025 Division I Men's Soccer All-America Teams on Tuesday, and Monroe University was once again well represented on the national stage. Sophomore midfielder
Carmelo Bello earned Second Team All-America recognition, while sophomore winger Joao Victor de Araujo Ribeiro was named to the Third Team.
Bello was a driving force in the heart of the Mustangs' midfield throughout the season. Appearing in 13 matches with 9 starts, he tallied 6 goals and 1 assist for 13 points, including one game-winning score. He recorded 38 shots, placing 19 on target for a 50 percent shots-on-goal rate, and went 1-for-1 from the penalty spot. His two-way influence and reliability made him one of the most impactful midfielders in the NJCAA.
Ribeiro stepped forward as a key attacking contributor during his sophomore campaign. Starting all 13 matches, he posted 1 goal and 1 assist for 3 points, applying consistent pressure from wide areas. He registered 4 shots with 2 on goal all while showcasing pace, creativity, and strong work rate across the season.
The pair of All-America selections continues Monroe University's long-standing tradition of producing national-level talent, reinforcing the program's position as one of the premier men's soccer destinations in the Northeast.
