Charlotte, NC – The Monroe University men's soccer team has re-entered the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer national rankings at the No. 20 spot, the NJCAA announced on Monday.
After beginning the year ranked tenth in the country, the Mustangs fell out of the rankings entirely following a 0-3 start to the year in Florida. Since then, they have gone 6-1-1 and have pulled off convincing ranked victories over Montgomery College and Harcum College.
It's been another successful regular season for the decorated program, culminating in the team's placement in the final national rankings list of the year. Five players have scored at least three times, with sophomore
Carmelo Bello leading the way with five goals.
In its most recent outing, Monroe played to a hard-fought draw against No. 19 Monroe Community College. With the draw, the Mustangs and Tribunes are tied atop the East District standings, with Monroe CC's upcoming matchup against Harcum on Wednesday set to be the deciding factor in who will draw the top seed in the tournament.
