RESULTS

Raleigh, NC
– The Monroe University men's outdoor track & field team delivered a strong showing at the historic Raleigh Relays this weekend, highlighted by standout performances from Shaquane Toussaint and Modou Sanneh, who both qualified for the 2026 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Fresh off his record-breaking performance in Tampa, Shaquane Toussaint carried his momentum into Raleigh. In his first 400m race of the outdoor season, the freshman from Grenada clocked an impressive 46.00, finishing second overall. His time shattered the previous school record of 46.34, set in 2018 by Elijah Young, and now stands as the fastest in program history. The mark also secured his qualification for nationals and ranks him No. 4 nationally across all NJCAA divisions.

Modou Sanneh also delivered a standout performance in the 400m. The sophomore from Gambia ran a personal-best 46.59 in his outdoor debut, earning a national qualifying mark.

Cleon Joseph added another strong performance for the Mustangs, running a personal-best 48.06 in the 400m. The sophomore from Antigua now sits just under one second away from qualifying for the national championships.

Two additional Mustangs made their 400m season debuts, with sophomore Micah McHardy clocking 55.37 and freshman Jazir Harris finishing in 56.50.

In the 100m, sophomore Douglas Lee posted a personal-best time of 11.36, while freshman Keba Cisse ran 11.63.

On day two, Monroe saw action in the 200m. Sophomore Christian Gabriel recorded a collegiate-best 22.43 in his outdoor debut at the distance. Elijah Upsher competed in both the 100m and 200m, running 11.48 in the 100m and a personal-best 24.54 in the 200m.

Freshman Boitshepo Mashilo impressed in the 800m, clocking a collegiate personal-best time of 1:57.37 in his first race of the outdoor season.

The 4x400m relay team of Jaheim Lawrence, Douglas Lee, Micah McHardy, and Jazir Harris posted a time of 3:33.57. Lawrence opened with a strong 50.18 split, followed by Lee in 52.48. McHardy ran 54.50 on the third leg before Harris anchored the relay in 56.41.
