Mustangs Dominate Prince George's Community College

New Rochelle, NY - The Mustangs turned in a dominant all-around performance to kick off the 2026, rolling past Prince George's Community College, 96-38, at the MAC.

The Mustangs set the tone early with a strong opening quarter, jumping out to a 30-8 advantage behind active defense and efficient offense. Monroe controlled the tempo from the start, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities to build early separation.

That momentum carried into the second quarter as the Mustangs continued to extend the lead, outscoring Prince George's 23-12 to take a 53-20 cushion into halftime. Monroe limited the Jaguars' scoring opportunities while consistently finishing in the paint, creating a comfortable margin by the break.

Monroe put the game out of reach in the third quarter, holding Prince George's to just seven points while adding 25 of its own. The Mustangs shared the ball well, dominated the glass, and maintained defensive pressure that kept the Jaguars from finding any rhythm.

Bre Jefferson led all scorers with 19 points, while Angie Tirado added 17 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. Skylah Kemp and Hellary De Los Santos chipped in 10 points apiece, and Monroe received solid contributions throughout the lineup as it finished with a commanding advantage on the boards.

The Mustangs forced turnovers and turned defense into offense throughout the afternoon, closing out the convincing win and improving to 9-6 on the season. Monroe takes a short break before taking on Union College on January 6th.
