New Rochelle, NY – The Monroe University women's volleyball team defeated SUNY Ulster in straight sets (25-5, 25-4, 25-10) on Tuesday, pushing its win streak to eight games and sweeping an opponent on six such occasions during the stretch.
Freshman
Alisha Pereira Rodriguez-Wells paced the team offensively with seven kills, while sophomore
Emma Dedushaj continued her trek towards placing in the top-five in single season digs in program history with 21 digs on the night.
Service aces were running rampant as Monroe accumulated a season-high 26 against the Senators. Freshman

Jelena Peric tied atop the team with six, while sophomore
Fabiana Lopez was not far behind with five of her own.
No one player scored above ten points, showcasing the team's depth.
Since a 1-5 showing at the OWT Tournament, the Mustangs have been on fire. Now at 14-6, the team is firing on all cylinders and will face off at Harcum College on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 26 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
