Mount Vernon, NY – The Monroe University football team closed out its 2025 home schedule with a tough loss to Snow College on Saturday afternoon, 49-14.
The Badgers assembled a 42-0 lead before Monroe got on the board via a 39-yard touchdown reception by sophomore
Khameen Powell. Freshman
Zavry Ward scored the other touchdown for the Mustangs on a 4-yard QB run.
Powell led the Monroe receiving attack with 64 yards, while redshirt sophomores
Evan Harrington and
Jashaun Amin followed with 43 and 38 yards, respectively. Freshman
Sa'eed Cole piled up nearly 100 all-purpose yards with 98 yards (75 rushing, 23 receiving).
On defense, redshirt sophomores
Sam Gadie,
Tavorian Copeland and
Ezekiel Ashiagbor continued to keep Monroe near the top of the NJCAA sacks leaderboard as each tacked on one to their season total. Gadie also had two tackles for loss in the defeat.
It was a difficult outcome for the Mustangs after a dominant display at last week's Homecoming game against Lackawanna. With the loss, Monroe cannot outright clinch a berth to a bowl game this season.
Needing a fifth win to be in consideration for postseason play, Monroe will travel to Long Island to take on Nassau Community College in its regular season finale on Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 pm.
