Women's Volleyball's Win Streak Reaches 20 in Straight Set Win Over Morris

New Rochelle, NY – The Monroe University women's volleyball team extended its win streak to 20 games in a 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-8) sweep over the County College of Morris on Wednesday evening.

Monroe made quick work of the Titans in large part to the offensive showcase from freshman Adriana Garcia. The Puerto Rico native tallied a team-high 15 kills on just 20 attempts with zero errors, good for a .650 kill percentage.

Sophomore Fabiana Lopez was next in line with nine kills as the Mustangs kept the win streak alive. Freshman Annie Callen stepped into the libero role and delivered with a team-high 12 digs.

Set one saw Monroe jump out to an insurmountable 22-5 lead, with Garcia accumulating five kills in the set. Set two was a bit more challenging for the Mustangs as the Titans mounted a late run to make it 20-16. A 4-0 run distanced the Mustangs, leading to Lopez's set-clinching kill.

Monroe set the tone to finish the second set and that carried into the third with a 10-1 run to close out the contest. Fittingly, Garcia tallied three kills over the final five points, including the match-ending score to lead the team to its 20th straight victory.

The Mustangs will shift their focus to The New School University on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
