Wiktoria Mikrut Scores Four Times in No. 11 Women's Soccer's 7-0 Triumph Over Caldwell JV

New Rochelle, NY – Freshman Wiktoria Mikrut of the No. 11 Monroe University women's soccer team scored four goals to help propel the team to a 7-0 victory over Caldwell University JV on Tuesday.

Mikrut's season-high mark signaled the fifth consecutive game of scoring multiple goals. She also registered an assist against the Cougars — her third straight outing in doing so. On the season, the Mikrut is up to an astonishing 20 goals.

Monroe mustered just one goal in the first half off the left boot of Mikrut, but it turned on the burners for a six-goal second half — the team's season-high in a single half.

Freshman Leonor Lirio De Sousa kicked things off in the 58th minute before sophomore Maiko Kikuchi made it 3-0 a minute later. Fellow sophomore Sakurako Hara assisted on the goal with an elevated through ball to her teammate.

Mikrut delivered on her second goal in the 69th minute off an assist from freshman Julia Migacz. Kikuchi then secured a brace on an assist by Mikrut two minutes later.

The tandem of Kikuchi and Mikrut didn't stop there as Kikuchi flipped the script by assisting on Mikrut's third goal in the 73rd minute. Then, the Poland native achieved the career-high with a penaly score in the 75th minute, putting the game on ice.

Freshman Magdalena Syrek was phenomenal in goal, nearly matching a career-high in saves in eight while also securing her second clean sheet of the year and first since the season opener at Miami Dade College.

The Mustangs will have two weeks off before finishing off the regular season at Felician University JV on Tuesday, October 28, at 10:00 am. They will aim for their first undefeated regular season since 2019 in Rutherford, NJ.
