Ephraim, UT – The Monroe University football team fell to No. 6 Snow College, 57-7, on Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Raeden Oliver scored the lone touchdown of the day on 17-yard run in the third quarter.
The Mustangs' outing started by giving up a 92-yard kickoff return touchdown and the Badgers never looked back. Monroe fell behind 21-0 by the end of the first quarter and 26-0 by the halftime intermission.
Oliver scored for the Mustangs on the first drive of the half, but Snow pieced together another stout run to close the quarter up 50-7. A final touchdown was scored on a pick-six, ending the contest at 57-7.
Sophomore
Na'il Johnson led the way with nine total tackles, while redshirt sophomore
Anthonio Beckford tallied four solo tackles and assisted on three for a total of seven total tackles.
Freshman
Khameen Powell paced the offense with 50 receiving yards on four receptions.
The Mustangs drop to 4-5 on the year and have one final chance to finish the season at .500 when they travel to Newport News, VA, to take on The Apprentice School on Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 pm.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE UNIVERSITY
The athletic program at Monroe University encompasses a total of 28 teams competing across nine sports. There are 20 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as the Monroe University marching band, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has seven teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
