HAGERSTOWN, Md., November 27, 2022 – Emmanuel Ogbole has produced a double-double in four straight games, helping lead the No. 14-ranked Monroe College Mustangs men's basketball team to a dominant 89-56 victory at Hagerstown Community College on Saturday in the Jim Brown Memorial Classic. The Mustangs remain unbeaten at 8-0 with the win, while the Hawks fall to 5-4.
Ogbole totaled 21 points and 12 rebounds in Saturday's road victory, making 10-of-12 shots from the field, while half of his rebounds were on the offensive side of the court. Over his past four games, all of which he registered a double-double in, Ogbole is averaging 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.
Ziare Wells totaled 15 points and seven boards in Saturday's win, adding three steals as well. Melvin Council Jr. picked up 11 points with six boards in the game. Hamdel Mohammed contributed 10 points and five rebounds. Keith Warren Jr., Nikola Danicic and Tyje Kelton each scored seven points in Saturday's victory, with Danicic leading the team with four steals.
The Mustangs wrap up their weekend at the Jim Brown Memorial Classic, hosted by Hagerstown, with a Sunday matchup against Allegany College of Maryland. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 35 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well the Monroe College marching band and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
