GARDEN CITY, N.Y., October 11, 2022 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's volleyball team took a short trip out to Long Island Tuesday evening to take on Nassau Community College, defeating the Lions in three sets to improve to 22-6 overall on the season with the Mustangs' eighth straight victory. Nassau falls to 2-15 with the loss.

Monroe got off to a dominant start, running out to a 17-1 lead. The Lions managed to grab a few points down the stretch, but not enough to make a comeback, as Monroe won, 25-7, to take a 1-0 lead. The Mustangs steadily pulled away from the Lions in the second set, going on a big run late to claim a 25-11 win for a 2-0 lead in the match. A 12-1 advantage in the third set later turned into a 19-5 lead for Monroe. The Mustangs then closed out the match with a bang, scoring the final six points for a 25-5 win to complete the sweep.
