NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., November 21, 2021 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team went 1-2 in three games this past week. The Mustangs leave the week with a 1-3 overall record.

The Mustangs JV team had a tough start to its week, falling 90-34 to the 238 Academy on Wednesday at the Monroe Athletic Complex.
Isaiah Hanley and
George Klouda matched for a team-high 10 points in the game. Hanley added team-bests of eight rebounds, two assists and five steals.
Thomas Paasewe added six points and matched Hanley's eight boards.

Things turned around for the Mustangs on Saturday, as they picked up a 75-72 victory at SUNY Sullivan JV for the team's first victory of the season in their first game on the road.
Richie Guillaume had his second double-double of the season with team-highs of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while also leading the team with four steals and four assists.
Jahel Ramsey contributed 15 points, three assists and four boards. Klouda scored 10 off the bench in the win.

The week wrapped up with an incredibly close matchup at the Monroe Athletic Complex against the Monroe Express JV team on Sunday. The Mustangs held a narrow one-point lead after the first half, but the Express were able to make a late run, picking up a 63-60 win over the Mustangs in their first matchup of the season.

Ramsey and Guillaume matched with 15 points apiece to lead the Mustangs in Sunday's defeat. Guillaume picked up his third double-double with 14 rebounds.
Jeremiah Cherry tallied 10 points with five boards and two steals in the game. Hanley added eight points and eight rebounds.

The Mustangs will look to get back on track next Sunday, Nov. 28, when they host Prestige Preparatory Academy at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 39 teams competing across nine sports. There are 21 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, the Monroe College marching band, and the newly added esports and men's volleyball programs, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 18 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
