HERKIMER, N.Y., February 18, 2020 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team held on in the second half to pick up a 77-75 victory on the road against Herkimer County Community College JV. The Mustangs improve to 12-14 overall, while the Generals drop to 10-3.
Jedidiah Ashton led Monroe, registering a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Jerald Campbell had a strong game as well, finishing with 21 points.
Luis Quinones added eight points, nine assists and four steals.
The Mustangs return home to the Monroe Athletic Complex on Saturday, Feb. 22, when they host SUNY Sullivan JV for an American Independent Post Grad and Collegiate Conference (AIPGCC) matchup, as well as Sophomore Day. The game is set to tip off at 2 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
