RIVERDALE, N.Y., February 11, 2020 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team took a short trip down the road Monday evening and picked up a 65-61 victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) JV team in American Independent Post Grad and Collegiate Conference (AIPGCC) action. The Mustangs improve to 10-13 overall and 6-4 in AIPGCC play with the win, while CMSV drops to 6-8 and 2-5.
Luis Quinones led the Mustangs with 16 points on Monday, as well as with three steals and three assists.
Erizander Laureano provided 13 points off the bench with five rebounds.
Jerald Campbell pulled down a team-high 10 boards in the win.
Jai Redd and
Onterio Miller both tallied eight points off the bench.
Monroe will look to pick up its third straight win when it hosts Hostos Community College at the Monroe Athletic Complex on Thursday, Feb. 13. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
