SCRANTON, Pa., January 25, 2020 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team's three-game winning streak came to a halt on Saturday, as the Mustangs dropped a road matchup at Lackawanna College, 84-57. The Mustangs drop to 12-9 overall with the loss.
Ineysiah Surrell led the Mustangs with 16 points in Saturday's defeat, adding another eight rebounds in a solid game.
Cheyenne Talbot was next with 11 points with seven boards of her own.
Maya Crimes picked up six points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
ToniRenee Blanford also picked up eight points and four boards.
The Mustangs will look to bounce back on their home court on Tuesday, Jan. 28, when they host ASA College for a Region XV matchup at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
