MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., January 23, 2020 – After trailing by 10 points at the half, the Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team came storming back in the second frame to pick up a narrow 63-62 victory over Hamilton Hall Academy on Thursday. The Mustangs improve to 7-11 overall and 4-2 in American Independent Post Grad and Collegiate Conference (AIPGCC) play, while Hamilton Hall falls to 3-1 in AIPGCC contests.
Monroe trailed Hamilton Hall, 41-31, at the halftime break on Thursday. The Mustangs then outscored their hosts, 32-21, over the final 20 minutes to edge out Hamilton Hall by a point.
Luis Quinones produced a pair of big halves, totaling a season-high 28 points in the win. He also added six rebounds, two steals and a pair of assists.
Jedidiah Ashton tallied 15 points for Monroe, matching Quinones with six rebounds.
Onterio Miller pitched in with nine points.
The Mustangs take to the road once again on Saturday, Jan. 25, for another AIPGCC matchup against the SUNY Sullivan JV team. Tip-off in Loch Sheldrake, N.Y. is scheduled for 2 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
