LOCH SHELDRAKE, N.Y., January 25, 2020 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team picked up its second straight American Independent Post Grad and Collegiate Conference victory on Saturday, defeating SUNY Sullivan JV, 69-57, on the road. The Mustangs improve to 8-11 overall and 5-2 in AIPGCC play with the win, while the Generals fall to 6-4 and 3-2.
Luis Quinones and
Jedidiah Ashton matched for a team-high 18 points. Quinones led the team with two assists, while Ashton pulled down a team-leading seven rebounds.
Daniel Perez contributed 15 points and six boards, while
Deandre Hayes added another 10 points.
The Mustangs will look to make it three straight conference wins on Thursday, Jan. 30, when they host Prestige Preparatory Academy at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
