WARWICK, R.I., September 11, 2019 – Three different Mustangs netted three goals apiece to help lift the No. 1-ranked Monroe College Mustangs women's soccer team to a 12-2 victory over the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) Wednesday afternoon. The Mustangs remain unbeaten and improve to 5-0 on the season with the win, while the Knights drop to 1-1.
Luana Grabias,
Sydoney Clarke and
Laia Munoz Danon each registered a hat trick in Wednesday's win. Grabias had a huge day overall, adding four assists for a 10-point afternoon. Clarke added an assist of her own for a seven-point day.
Paula DePaiva Toledo registered six points on two goals and two assists.
Isabelle Andrea Tola added the other goal for the Mustangs, while
Marisa Lamb provided an assist.

Stefane Rosa made two saves and allowed just two scores to pick up the win and improve to 5-0 on the year. Maddie Brassard yielded 12 goals and made 14 stops to take the loss for CCRI and drop to 1-1.
The Mustangs packed it on in the first half, potting the first five goals of the game before CCRI got on the board in the 41st minute, eventually sending the game to halftime with a 5-1 score. Monroe picked up another six in a row in the second half before CCRI scored again, but Grabias picked up the final goal of the game in the 87th minute to cap off the 10-goal win.
The Mustangs held a significant 41-4 advantage in shots in the win, including a 29-4 margin in shots on goal. They also had all eight of the game's corner kicks.
The Mustangs are set for a sizeable layoff, as their next contest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21. They will take on Cerritos College of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA), in which they are the No. 4-ranked team. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.

There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I).
