NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., December 8, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs JV men's basketball team fell to Bryant & Stratton College's V.I.T. team, 84-74, Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Monroe Roundball Classic at the Monroe Athletic Complex. The Mustangs fall to 3-5 with the loss, while Bryant & Stratton improves to 7-2.
Deandre Hayes led the scoring for the Mustangs with 12 points in the game.
Jedidiah Ashton and
Jerald Campbell both picked up 10 points and eight rebounds apiece.
Onterio Miller provided another 10 points off the bench.
The Mustangs will get back to work on Saturday, Dec. 14, when they host Suffolk County Community College at the Monroe Athletic Complex. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
