NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y., December 7, 2019 – The Monroe College Mustangs women's basketball team dropped a home matchup against Harford Community College, 64-49, Friday evening at the Monroe Athletic Complex. The Mustangs drop to 4-5 on the season with the loss, while Harford remains unbeaten at 7-0.
Daja Wentz led the Mustangs with 10 points, adding a team-high eight rebounds as well.
Cheyenne Talbot picked up seven points, four boards and led the team with five assists.
Maya Crimes tallied eight points, five rebounds and a block.
India Keene added another seven points, seven boards and three assists.
Ineysiah Surrell pulled down seven rebounds to go with six points.
The Mustangs will look to turn things around on Tuesday, Dec. 10, when they take a short ride into the Bronx to take on Hostos Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
ABOUT THE ATHLETIC PROGRAM AT MONROE COLLEGE
The athletic program at Monroe College encompasses a total of 31 teams competing across nine sports. There are 19 varsity and junior varsity programs, as well as club men's and women's rugby, competing on the New Rochelle campus as the Mustangs (NJCAA Division I). The Monroe Express, based out of the Bronx campus, has 12 teams competing at the NJCAA Division III level.
